General

This is the easiest way to combine electronic sounds with your acoustic drum set! You only need two things: a trigger pad and a sound module. This Yamaha DTX 500 side snare set is comprised of a DTX 500 sound module and an XP80 3-zone silicone pad. Combine this with your acoustic set up and the entire electronic world is in your hands!

 DTX sound module

The DTX 500 sound module contains 427 carefully chosen sounds to put a wide range of sounds at your fingertips. The tone generator by Yamaha featured in this model delivers sounds with critically tested quality and wide variety. It doesn't matter what your style is, this module has the right sounds for you.

XP80 trigger pad

Yamaha used 40 years worth of knowledge accumulated building acoustic drum sets to create the XP80. This 8-inch electronic snare trigger pad is made of the TCS (Textured Cellular Silicone), a silicone material developed by Yamaha's experts that has playing qualities remarkably close to those of acoustic drums. The 3 zones make it possible to play rimshots and rim-clicks. Three completely different sounds are also available to you: a snare sound, a cow bell and one that you can use to start drum loops. The combination of the DTX500 and the XP80 will give you an incredible playing experience!
