TASCAM heeft met de SS-CDR1 opname op Compact Flash en Compact Disc gecombineerd in een 1 HE solid state recorder. Deze recorder is ontwikkeld voor toepassingen waar voorheen cassettes of MiniDiscs voor werden gebruikt.

De SS-CDR1 neemt audio, als MP3 of WAV, op de Compact Flash kaart op. Deze audio is vervolgens direct op CD te branden.
