De CC-222SL MK2 onderscheidt zich van iedere soortgelijke recorder door de RIAA phono ingang, die een directe opname van een draaitafel mogelijk maakt! TASCAM heeft deze recorder volgepropt met zeer makkelijke functies.

De CD recorder en het cassettedeck van de CC-222SL MK2 kunnen als twee individuele recorders gebruikt worden. Daarnaast is het mogelijk één externe bron naar beide recorders tegelijk te kopiëren! Digitale I/O (coaxiaal en optisch), RCA (ongebalanceerd) analoge I/O, auto track increment, MP3 afspelen, power on play, fade in en uit, handmatige track increment en een grote hoeveelheid aan afspeelmogelijkheden zijn slechts een aantal van de enorme hoeveelheid van functies van de CC-222SL MK2.
