The Tama PL62HXZ2-DDD Starclassic Performer shell set is a top drum kit from the high-end Starclassic series. This sparkling shell set comes in a Diamond Dust finish. The unique shells of the Starclassic Performer are made of two different types of wood. On the inside of the birch shells, Tama applied a few layers of Bubinga, which results in a fantastic sound! This fusion set consists of a 22-inch bass drum, a 10-inch and a 12-inch tom, a 14-inch floor tom and a 14 x 5.5 snare drum.

Tama PL62HXZ2-DDD Starclassic Performer shell set: a unique combination of sounds

The combination of birch and bubinga makes this a unique set. Bubinga is on average 53% harder than birch, and the combination results in a clear sound with great attack and a nice emphasis on the lows. The shells of the toms and floor tom are 6mm thick and are made up of three plies of bubinga and four plies of birch. The shell of the bass drum features three plies of bubinga and five plies of birch, and is 7 mm thick.

Hoops

Besides the unique combination of wood-types, this set also features die-cast hoops which keep your drums in tune for longer, giving you more time to actually play the drums. Furthermore, these hoops create a sharper attack and allow for much clearer highs. This set comes with two single tom holders, and two multi-clamps which make it a breeze to mount the toms. This silver Tama Starclassic Performer shell set comes with Evans drumheads.
