With the Big Black Steel from their Sound Lab Project series, Tama presents a snare drum with plenty of power and volume to tackle the louder musical styles such as hard rock and heavy metal. It was specifically designed for drummers who have to compete with a wall of sound from their guitarists.

Tama Sound Lab Project Series: Big Black Steel

To create a lot of volume, you have to move a lot of air. That's why a deep snare drum has a greater dynamic range than a shallow snare drum has. For that reason, the Big Black Steel was fitted with an 8-inch deep shell with a diameter of 14 inches. It is 1 mm thick and finished in a great-looking matte black colour. The snare drum is equipped with 2.3mm Steel Mighty hoops, hi-tension lugs and with hi-carbon steel Snappy Snare snare wires, for an optimal dynamic range. Tama has always been a good choice for alternative drummers, and with this new Big Black Steel snare drum they've once again proven that Tama is the number one brand for real rockers!
