Steinberg Cubase Artist 7.5 is Cubase 7.5's little brother. The pack offers more than enough possibilities for any studio, band or composer, however. The ideal pack if you are bound to a limited budget and don't need an extensive assortment of audio, instrument or MIDI tracks and the like. Cubase artist 7.5 contains the same practical elements as Cubase 7.5 to express yourself.
Cubase Artist 7.5's workflow
In version 7, Cubase Artist is equipped with an improved MixConsole, where the channel strips have been upgraded. They have been altered so much, that they take up a large portion of your screen. This is no problem, however, as the full-screen mode allows you to maintain a clear overview. Certain elements (like EQs, compression and limiters) can be switched off if you are not using them for any particular channel. Things like A/B comparison, drag-and-drop support and a bypass function have also been added. Version 7.5 has been extended with TrackVersions, for relabeling and managing parallel adjustments in a track. Thanks to the Track Visibility function, only those track are displayed that you need to see at that particular time.
Functionality of the Artist version
In Cubase Artist 7.5, you have the option to add 64 audio tracks, 128 MIDI tracks and 32 instrument tracks, 32 in and outputs and 32 group channels. You also benefit from 18 accessory MIDI effects, 50 audio effects and 8 VST instruments. Groove Agent SE 4 is a drum sampler with extensive preference settings for the editing and playback of rhythmic patterns. The virtual sound module HALion Sonic SE 2 has been extended with extra sounds, a Trip function, a virtual analogue ARP synthesizer and eight new effects. Via LoopMash FX you can edit your track rigorously with tape stops or stutters. REVelation is a high-grade reverb, with a sound that puts you in mind of the legendary hardware editions of before. Magneto 2 is a tape saturator and it equips your track with a warm analogue sound.
