General

Sony offers video editing software in various price ranges, from the budget-friendly Platinum series to the comprehensive Pro series. Within the Pro series, this physical Edit edition is the most affordable (only the download version is slightly cheaper). Compared to the complete Vega Pro 12 edition, DVD Architect is missing, as are Dolby 5.1 surround and stereo AC-3 encoding. What remains is a fantastic editing package that allows you to create and edit large-scale, spectacular videos. Like all Sony products, the Vegas Pro 12 Edit software is user-friendly and easily accessible - you don't have to be a film student in order to work with this package.

Version 12

Version 12 of Sony's video editing software package offers over 40 new features. The enhanced user interface offers improved image masking options. Areas that have to be masked can be selected by means of a selection rectangle or circle, and alongside regular masking, other effects can also be applied to these areas. Both Pro Type Titler and credit roll generator have been enhanced, and media tags will help you find the right files in your extensive collection. Projects are now exchangeable with Avid Pro Tools, a familiar name in the editing business.
