General

The Sony ICD-SX733D is a 10cm long handheld voice recorder that offers a choice selection of options and is powered by a rechargeable battery. Beneath its silver and black exterior, it houses three built-in directional microphones that record perfect stereo sound. The most extensive frequency response - which goes with the highest bit rate you can select - ranges from 40 to 20,000 Hz. Several sound-enhancing features improve the quality of your recordings, which can be played back via its built-in speaker or using the included stereo headphones. The recorder is supplied with a copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking 12 speech recognition software, which provides you with a range of possibilities. In short, the Sony ICD-SX733D is the ideal voice recorder for all your interviews, meetings and quotes.

Sound quality

The ICD-SX733D offers a choice of two different file formats for your recordings: LPCM and MP3. LPCM delivers a sound quality of 44.1 kHz/16 bits or 96.1 kHz/24 bits, while MP3 allows you to choose between 48, 128, 192 or 320 kbps. There's a perfect bit rate for every occasion! The audio quality you select affects both the recording time and battery life of the recorder. The higher the audio quality, the less and the shorter you'll be able to record. However, perfect recordings are ensured! The lowest bit rate allows you to record up to 318 hours of audio, while your battery lasts up to 30 hours. At the highest bit rate you can record up to 10 hours, while your battery is good for 22 hours. The ICD-SX733D is equipped with three great built-in microphones, but if you like you can also connect an external microphone to the special input of the recorder.

Functions and expansion

The Sony ICD-SX733D offers a range of interesting features. The VOR function allows you to specify a minimum audio level, ensuring the recorder only registers sounds of a specific volume. The Intelligent Noise Cut function reduces background noise and emphasises the speech in your recordings. All of these and other functions can be selected by means of the LCD display of the ICD-SX733D, which also allows you to quickly and easily manage, erase and copy your audio files. The handheld voice recorder has a 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded by means of a microSD card, and you can easily transfer your audio files from the recorder to your PC using the software that is included in delivery.
