U wilt voor in uw studio een hoofdtelefoon, maar u wilt ook een microfoon hebben om uzelf duidelijk te maken of misschien wel uit te zenden bij bijvoorbeeld radio-uitzendingen. U kunt hier natuurlijk een zwanenhalsmicrofoon voor nemen, een Shure SM7B microfoon of misschien zelfs wel een extra headset, maar waarom eigenlijk? Deze SM-2 van Shure biedt u namelijk dé oplossing: een hoofdtelefoon en microfoon in één! Ook heel bruikbaar voor de mensen achter de camera, de regisseur, de sport-commentator en presentaties van evenementen en wedstrijden!

Zoals al gezegd is dit in feite een multi-purpose headsetmicrofoon. De hoofdtelefoon van de headset biedt u een goede kwaliteit geluid in combinatie met een goede afscherming van omgevingsgeluid, zodat u niet snel afgeleid zal worden. De microfoon die hierop vastgemaakt is kan rechts of links gedragen worden, precies wat het prettigst aanvoelt. Het frequentiebereik van de microfoon is vastgesteld op 50 tot 15000 Hertz, waardoor deze microfoon perfect te gebruiken is voor spraak en zelfs zang! Het cardioide opnamepatroon zorgt er op zijn beurt voor dat alleen opgepikt wordt wat rechtstreeks de microfoon ingestuurd wordt, waardoor u weinig tot geen last heeft van allerlei rumoer en ander omgevingsgeluid. Om te voorkomen dat uw eigen stem dan net niet opgepikt wordt, is de microfoon 155° te draaien, en in lengte in te stellen tot 89mm. Hierdoor heeft u de mogelijkheid om de microfoon optimaal voor de mond te plaatsen, zodat u altijd in de microfoon kunt praten voor de beste resultaten!
