General

The Shure PG58-QTR is a dynamic vocal microphone out of the attractively priced PG series. It is the starter version of the renowned SM58 and can be used for the same live applications. The PG58 has a wider frequency range than the PG48, making it better suited for clear lead and backing vocals. Ideal for amateur or semi-professional singers with stage experience. This quarter (QTR) inch edition is equipped with an XLR cable of 4.57 metres with a 6.35 mm jack plug.

Shure PG58-QTR: professional properties
The Shure PG58-QTR has a cardioid pickup pattern. This means that most of the sound is picked up at the front of the microphone and less from the sides. This is especially noticeable at high volumes, when it is less sensitive for feedback. The frequency range lies between 60 Hertz and 15 kHz, so that you can be assured of a natural sound. The capsule of the PG58-QTR is equipped with a neodymium magnet for a high output without distortion. An internal shockmount and pop filter prevent ambient noise from being picked up and the microphone also has an on/off-switch, to ensure optimal control when you are performing on stage.

Tips or comments about this product

- The Shure pack is also available with an XLR to XLR cable, the PG58-XLR.

Wrote the following about Shure PG58-QTR dynamic vocal microphone
