General
De Sonic Cell heeft dezelfde geluiden als de grote synthesizers van Roland, maar dan in een compacte module. Door zijn geringe grootte is de Sonic Cell altijd en overal makkelijk mee naar toe te nemen en te gebruiken.
De module maakt gebruik van dezelfde, befaamde klankbron als de grote Roland synthesizers. Daarnaast heeft de Sonic Cell de beschikking over veel nieuwe geluiden, waaronder reële klanken van akoestische en drum instrumenten. De Sonic Cell heeft daarnaast twee aansluitingen voor golfvormkaarten van de SRX-serie, een USB-audio interface en de mogelijkheid zowel MIDI als audiobestanden af te spelen. Dit maakt de module een ideaal apparaat voor muzikanten die alleen optreden, of voor computertoepassingen.

Bevat standaard ruim 1100 geluiden in vele categorieen en geschikt voor allerlei muziekstijlen, op hoge kwaliteit gesampled. Vooral de elektrische piano's en acoustische instrumenten klinken zeer goed. Alle gewenste effecten (chorus, reverb, flanger, phaser, distortion etc.) zijn aanwezig. Ook techno-sounds en allerlei pulserende effecten zijn beschikbaar. Verder veel warme pads en vette vintage synth-klanken.
Het synthesizerdeel is erg uitgebreid, en vanaf de Sonic Cell-site zijn PC-editors en aanvullende software en manuals te downloaden. De bediening via het draaiwiel is even wennen, maar werkt verder wel heel precies. Een USB-memorystick is aan te sluiten, voor afspelen van mp3-, midi- en wav-files, en om backups van de instellingen te maken. Heeft ook een audio-ingang om het geluid van een andere klankbron (toetsen, gitaar, microfoon) bij te mixen.
