General
This Reloop RMX-40 DSP Blackfire is a 12 inch DJ mixer with a 4+1 channel setup. It is beautifully designed with a matt black, brushed aluminium top and rubber pot meters. The RMX-40 has a simple and well-organised layout, but offers a wide range of functions. It is a real club mixer; professional DJs will enjoy it.
Setup of the mixer
This DJ mixer has four channels plus one microphone channel. Each channel has a gain button, a 3-band equaliser and LED indicators that will help you visually judge the power of the signal. Each channel has a line signal input (for CD players, etc.) and a turntable input with an earthed connection. You can select the signal of your choice per channel by means of a switch. For pre-listening purposes there is a headphones connection with tone control and a balance switch between pre-listening and master signal. In order to switch between the various channels, you have a crossfader at your disposal that can be assigned to the different channels. This crossfader also enables you to provide the kill switches with a signal. On the rear of the mixer you can find a balanced XLR master output and two RCA master outputs, which enable you to send a separate signal to your DJ booth.
DSP effect section
As its name already suggests, the RMX-40 DSP Blackfire is equipped with a digital effects processor, which can be freely assigned to any channel. Effects such as panorama, transformer, echo, delay, flanger, phaser, high/low-pass filter and pitch shifter make life fun for a DJ! You have two parameters per effect, which you can adjust in real time for either subtle or extreme effects. Two beat counters count the number of beats per minute, either automatically or via a Tap button, and adjust the effects to that bpm rate. Your effects will never be out of sync! Finally, this mixer also has a stereo effect send and return connection that allows you to connect an external effect device.
- Always make sure to neatly cover your mixer, as dust can really damage your equipment.

Er is echter geen master volume knop, maar een fader. Voor mij is het toch wel prettig om dat te hebben. Wel is er een master 2 volume knop voor monitor speakers. De effecten zijn leuk, maar is lastig om dat met de beat te matchen. Daar ga ik zelf ook beetje mee oefenen.
Het design ziet er ook fraai uit. Ik heb hem in combinatie met de Numark NDX 400 (2x). Samen zien ze er mooi uit als een dj set. Echter is het mengpaneel best wel diep (als in hij is lang) in vergelijking met mijn cd spelers. Voor het pluggen van de kabels je de reloop rmx 40 wel altijd even moeten optillen omdat de connectoren onder in een hoek zitten (zie plaatjes). Maar al met al is het een zeer goed mengpaneel waarbij je lekker kan draaien en dat voor een mooi prijsje.
Kortom een echte aanrader!

Om antwoord op je vraag te geven: de breedte van deze mixer is12 inch. Deze breedte is gemeten vanaf de onderkant, dus de dekplaat telt niet mee. Je kunt deze mixer eenvoudig plaatsen in iedere 12 inch mixer flightcase.

Zeker voor deze prijs is het een hele mooie mixer, vele mogelijkheden, effecten, 4kanaals, record uitgang, heldere lampjes etc

- Ben persoonlijk niet weg van sommige effecten
- De cue knoppen zijn per kanaal niet altijd makkelijk in te drukken
- Kill functies (killen hem namelijk niet helemaal)
Zeker voor dit geld is het een must have als je een niet te dure mixer wilt hebben, maar die het wel goed doet!
Maar ik vind deze blackfire net als veel van reloop wel heerlijk stevig gebouwd.

Deze mixer heeft 2 usb-verbindingen met mijn laptop, ideaal om per kanaal klankkleur te kunnen regelen. Daarnaast nog 2 kanalen voor extra mogelijkheden en een mic-kanaal. De toonregeling is per kanaal goed en krachig. Volop volume op de koptelefoon. Echter bij thuis-oefenen, hoor je bij stilte momenten de effecten - als ze ingeschakeld zijn - in de achtergrond wat meezingen.
Voor mij desondanks een fijn apparaat.
