This is a baby blue signature model, specially designed for 311 guitarist Tim Mahoney, an avid user of Paul Reed Smith guitars since the nineties. The PRS SE Tim Mahoney (Baby Blue) was modelled after the man's PRS Standard 24, a trusted accomplice in the creation of 311's signature sounds.
Distinct PRS sounds
PRS guitars are known and loved for their sustain-rich sounds, and naturally these are also coming from the SE Tim Mahoney thanks to their powerfully resonant mahogany body, a set-in neck and a compact stop tail bridge. A neat, fat and - when so desired - crunchy sound is wrought by two PRS SE humbuckers, controlled by volume and tone knobs as well as a 3-position pickup switch. What's more, the guitar comes with a PRS SE gig bag.
Birds in Flight and other striking details
Careful observers will already have noticed the distinctive bird-shaped fret markers; the Birds in Flight inlays form a graceful combo with the characteristic PRS body and headstock. Thanks to the deep cutaways it is easy to reach even the highest frets. Additionally, this guitar has a comfortably slender Wide Thin neck and a comfortable arm contour.
