Let's say you already own a fine DJ mixer, which leaves nothing to be desired, but you are looking for a new set a tabletop players. This set may be just the thing for you! It consists of two Pioneer CDJ-850 players combined with a set of Prodector dust covers. It is the ideal choice for demanding DJs who are looking for high-quality players with decent functionality, but who simply cannot afford top-segment players. The CDJ-850 is the perfect alternative for anyone who wants to experience the Pioneer feel at home or in the club, without any unnecessary functions and other bells and whistles. As the CDJ-850 has borrowed a lot of features from its larger counterparts, it has become a very popular choice.
Functionality of the CDJ-850 player.
On the one hand, the CDJ-850 is a logical successor of the CDJ-800 as we knew it, on the other hand it is not. After all, the CDJ-800 was a more affordable player with just a little less functionality than the CDJ-1000. Nowadays, however, the CDJ-900 takes the place just below the CDJ-2000 in the Pioneer assortment. Right below the CDJ-900, we have the CDJ-850: an affordable player in the top part of the middle segment. It is equipped with MIDI HID, among other things, enabling it to send super-fast, high-resolution MIDI signals to your DJ software. Besides that it functions as a CD player and it can effortlessly handle USB sticks as well. In short, the CDJ-850 is both multifunctional and reliable!
Prodector dust covers for the CDJ-850
The importance of protecting your multimedia player is often overlooked. A lot of the time, enthusiastic buyers forget to include a dust cover for their player. To properly protect the mechanical components of your player, however, a dust cover is indispensable. By keeping your players free from dust, you can really prolong their life!
Tabletop CD players are always supplied with a short RCA-RCA cable, which enables you to connect the player to a mixer. For intensive use, we recommend that you add a more supple cable with more rugged connectors to your order, such as the Procab CAB800.

Zelf gebruik ik de spelers voor een drive in.
Spelers zijn zeer divers door de cd combi met usb mogelijkheid.
Rekordbox is zeer eenvoudig te gebruiken en zorgt dat je van te voren je set kan samen stellen zonder cd na cd uit te zoeken.
Jogwheel is top echter niet zo scherp als die van de 2000 serie maar goed de prijs is er ook naar.

De HID/MIDI functionaliteit maakt dat het perfect is voor DJ's die gebruik maken van software. Bijna alle dj software kan met deze speler overweg. Echter zit hier wel verschil in.
HID zorgt voor een terugkoppeling naar de spelers waardoor alle LEDS of informatie die je ziet in de software ook op de speler te zien is (wavform, tijdweergave, bpm ect.)
MIDI doet dit niet, waardoor je dus bij VirtualDJ een perfect werkende speler hebt, maar bij Traktor niet. Je kan de MIDI functie wel gebruiken, maar je beeldscherm blijft leeg. Dit omdat de 850 geen traktor certified product is. De CDJ900 & CDJ2000 wel!
Als je even goed bekijkt wat jou software doet dan kom je niet voor verassingen te staan!
Ook het updaten van de speler is aan te raden aangezien de auto loop niet altijd perfect is.

ik heb één cdj800 en een cdj 850, allebei prima apparaten, maar zeker de waveform is ideaal... zit er zeker over na te denken nog een tweede aan te schaffen...
één min puntje is dat ik wel is problemen heb met het afspelen via usb... maar dit werd verholpen nadat ik mijn usb had geformatteerd...! aan denken dus!
Nadat mijn eerste set CD spelers kapot zijn gegaan wilde ik graag naar Pioneer overgaan, de vraag was alleen welke ik zou pakken. De CDJ 1000 of de CDJ 850? Uiteindelijk ben ik toch voor de CDJ 850 gegaan, heb er nog zeker geen spijt van! Wat een mooie spelers zijn dat, vooral dat programma Rekordbox vind ik geweldig voor mijn muziek.
+ punten:
- usb is best snel.
- snel zoeken op usb door de draaiknop.
- snel een nummer vinden op je cd hij laat heel de titel zien in je lijst.
- mooi geluid.
- de pitch fader heeft bij het nulpunt een klikje niet net als bij de cdj 2000 dat je niet voelt of hij op nul staat.
- jog wheel is heel prettig.
- punten:
- als er iemand heel heftig staat te dansen voor je meubel op een houte vloer wil op de speler die niet draait soms de usb overslaan. maar als hij speelt is er niks aan de hand.
al met al een geweldige speler.
Heb hem nu ruim een maand in gebruik.
En het is een super apparaat.
Geluid is super!! muziek afspelen via usb stick werkt goed, vinden van muziek op usb stick gaat ook erg makkelijk.
Deze Table top heeft mijn verwachtingen weten te overtreffen.
Een echte aanrader!!
Enkele verbeteringen bij de 850 (ten opzichte van de 800mk) zijn bijvoorbeeld de "waveform" zodat je precies kan zien hoe het nummer verloopt en de usb aansluiting niet te vergeten.
Het enkele minpunt dat ik bij deze cd speler kan vinden is dat deze geen Digitale output heeft (die de 800mk2 overigens wel had.)
Door de komst van deze cd speler is de keus tussen de cdj-850 en de cdj-2000 snel gemaakt.
Ik ga beslist voor de cdj-850!
