General

The CDJ 350 is the perfect starter model tabletop player by Pioneer. With the arrival of digital DJing, the demand for multifunctional players has increased. The CDJ 350 can be used multifunctionally, so it is a real contender. This silver-coloured CDJ-350 can handle CDs as well as MIDI, making it suitable for a digital DJ setup. Place two of these players next to your DJM 250 mixer and profit from the compact user-friendliness this combination has to offer. The CDJ 350 silver is fitted with a USB connector, allowing you to effortlessly connect all your multimedia storage devices such as USB sticks and smaller hard drives. The details of this player reveal that Pioneer try their best to deliver DJ equipment that offers both top quality and top design.

Rekordbox
This CDJ-350S player comes with an accessory version of music management software Rekordbox, which enables you to analyse tracks and to transfer them to a USB stick. If you plug your USB stick into the player, you can select the tracks on your CDJ-350 by genre, album or artist. As such, it is possible to fully prepare your DJ set at home, including playlists and hotcues. All you have to do when you are getting ready for your set is plug in your USB stick and you are good to go. If you like to select your tracks on the fly, depending on the atmosphere and the response of your audience, you can save the tracks you have played during your set as a history file and store them in Rekordbox as a playlist via your USB stick, so you can use it again later. With the Playlist button you can directly add a selected song to your playlist. This way, finding your favourite tracks in your extensive music library becomes easier.

Practical functions make DJing fun
This Pioneer player has a Beat display that shows you the beats and the position of a track. As such, beats can be registered on both an auditory and a visual level, allowing for a sense of hand-eye-ear coordination that can facilitate scratching and looping. And speaking of loops: the CDJ-350 features an extensive loop function that enables you to automatically make fully synchronised loops. You can cut this loop in half with each push of the Loop Divide button, while the Hot Loop button takes you back to the start of a set loop. Pioneer cannot make it much easier than that!

Beats Per Minute (BPM)
The auto BPM lock function of this Pioneer player enables you to apply a previously set BPM rate to a playing track with one push of a button. This is ideal for beginning DJs, as it allows them to easily match two tracks with different speeds. Tempo adjustments can easily be made with the pitch fader; the speed can be varied with +/- 6%, 10%, 16% or 100% (WIDE). If you don't want the pitch of the music to change during speed adjustments, simply press the Master Tempo button.

Tips or comments about this product

- Minimum system requirements: Pentium-M 1.5 GHz or faster, 250 MB of storage space or more, a CD-ROM/CD-DA station and a display of at least 1024 x 768 pixels (VGA) or a high-colour display (16-bit).
- Please note: supplied per piece, without DJM-250 or any other of the pictured accessories.
- Table top CD players are always supplied with a short RCA-RCA cable, which enables you to connect the player to a mixer. For intensive use, we recommend that you add a more supple cable with more rugged connectors to your order, such as the Procab CAB800.

They're quite a novelty, as they are Pioneer's first DJ controllers that work with the company's very own Rekordbox DJ software. By the looks of it, the main inspiration for the DDJ-RZ was Pioneer's top-segment DDJ-SZ DJ controller, while the DDJ-RX has been modelled after the DDJ-SX.
