General
Het is wederom Numark die komt met een verrassende controller. Deze 4Trak is een vier decks DJ MIDI controller die beschikt over een speciale, losse FX unit. Een soortgelijke combinatie zagen we al eerder bij de Numark NS7, die later uitgebracht werd met een losse FX unit. Kennelijk was er toch vraag naar een controller met die opzet, waardoor de 4Trak nu ontwikkeld is!
Hardware en software, analoog en digitaal verenigd
De Numark 4Trak is een vierdecks controller, met twee fysieke decks aan boord. Door middel van schakelaars aan de voorzijde zijn deck A en C links te selecteren, B en D zijn rechts te selecteren. Daarnaast heeft u verschillende instellingen voor onder meer de crossfadercurve. Er zijn meerdere in- en outputs aanwezig op deze multifunctionele controller en hij is voorzien van een interne audio-interface. Verder wordt Native Instruments Traktor 2 '4 track Edition' meegeleverd, zodat u direct aan de slag kunt.
De speciale FX unit van de 4Trak
Maar dat is nog niet alles. De 4Trak heeft de speciale FX unit aan boord. Niet alleen fungeert deze als een effect unit, maar ook maakt deze unit de koppeling met uw software mogelijk dankzij de USB in- en output. Hiermee wordt een standaard USB MIDI protocol gedeeld tussen uw DJ-software, de FX unit en de 4Trak. De interface heeft een 44.1 kHz 24-bits audio interface aan boord en heeft onder meer XLR uitgangen op de master. Het mag duidelijk zijn dat het hier om een volwaardige controller gaat, die eveneens als mixer kan fungeren met analoge bronnen.
