De Micro Express is een miniatuurversie van de MIDI Express XT. Het voert veel van dezelfde functies als de Micro Express XT, maar hij is nóg kleiner en nóg betaalbaarder. De Micro Express is een half-rack unit met vier ingangen en zes ingangen.

De Micro Express maakt volledig gebruik van USB, zodat u een verbeterde MIDI throughput heeft, en een betere timingaccuraatheid, ondersteuning voor "hot-swapping" en plug-and-play uitbreiding. Moet u een andere geluidsmodule of synth aansluiten? Geen probleem. U kunt simpelweg een andere MOTU USB MIDI interface toevoegen middels een standaard USB hub.
