The shallow toms and floor tom, that are equipped with Remo drumheads, are built for speed. They respond to your drumstick much more quickly, which is beneficial if you play lightning fast fills. Furthermore, they produce a relatively short tone, which leaves plenty of room for a rapid succession of notes. The configuration of this four-piece shell set keeps your toms and floor tom well within reach, while the extra depth of the bass drum gives it a very powerful punch. This shell set is part of the Saturn IV Maple Hybrid series.

The Mapex IV MH in Marine Spiral is a four-piece shell set with a 22 x 20-inch bass drum with a Remo P3 bass drumhead, 10 x 7 and 12 x 8-inch toms. and a 16 x 14-inch floor tom. The toms and floor tom are fitted with Remo Emperor Clear drumheads. The SONIClear tom suspension system enhances tom resonance and keeps the vibrations contained in the drums themselves, and the low-contact bass drum claw hooks give the bass drum more resonance. Furthermore, these claw hooks are fitted with a rubber lining that prevents them from rattling as you play, and which protects the finish of your bass drum hoops.
