The four-piece Mapex SNM529XFCL Saturn IV shell set in Merlot Burst is part of Mapex' Maple Hybrid series. It has 6-ply shells for the toms and an 8-ply shell for the bass drum, all made of North American maple and walnut. Mapex Saturn IV MH Merlot Burst: improved resonance

This four-piece Saturn SNM529XFCL Saturn IV MH shell set in Merlot Burst consists of a 22-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and a 16-inch floor tom. The toms are fitted with Remo Emperor Clear drumheads and the bass drum has a Remo P3 bass drumhead. This kit belongs to Mapex' Maple Hybrid series. This series has received some notable hardware upgrades, such as the SONIClear tom mounting system. The SONIClear system allows the toms to resonate freely and contains the vibrations within the drums themselves. The floor tom and bass drum legs also come from the SONIClear line and will provide your set-up with a stable base. The bass drum legs are equipped with the Memory Mark system, that allows you to quickly position your bass drum just right every single time.

Durability

All the durable, chrome hardware is able to endure prolonged and intensive use. The SONIClear bass drum claw hooks have a rubber lining that prevents them from rattling while you play and protects the finish of the bass drum hoops.
