General
Iedereen die veel bezig is met het versterken van geluid weet hoe groot het verschil is tussen een relatief trage 18 inch subwoofer in vergelijking met een 10 inch woofer. De versterker moet zoveel power geven om de woofer aan het bewegen te krijgen dat het hele systeem toch flink zijn best moet doen. Om te voorkomen dat hierdoor het systeem snel slijt heeft Mackie een nieuwe baskast ontwikkeld die vier woofers heeft met een diameter van 10 inch.
Het vermogen dat de versterker biedt maakt het mogelijk om een maximale SPL van 134 decibel te verkrijgen en dat is ruim voldoende om een flinke zaal op zijn grondvesten te laten trillen. Er moet dan natuurlijk wel een zware versterker achterliggen (lees ongeveer anderhalf keer het vermogen van de kast). Dankzij de ingebouwde crossover worden alle tonen boven de 180 Hz er uit gefilterd. Dat zorgt er voor dat de tonen en de levensduur van de luidspreker er flink op vooruit gaan omdat de subwoofer geen tonen hoeft te generen die deze niet aan kan. Verder lijkt de subwoofer veel op die van andere merken en het is dus gewoon mogelijk om een versterker met speakon aan te sluiten. Een top subwoofer die alle soorten evenementen aan zal kunnen.
