De middelste telg van de M-Audio Axiom familie is de Axiom 49. Deze USB MIDI controller heeft er in de Axiom 49 Pro een halfbroertje bij gekregen.

De Pro editie van de Axiom 49 heeft dezelfde kenmerken als de eerste editie. De controller heeft een toetsenbord met 49 semi-gewogen toetsen met TruTouch (voorheen aftertouch) die onafhankelijk in te stellen zijn, 8 aanslaggevoelige triggerpads, 8 encoders en 6 toewijsbare knoppen. De Axiom Pro 49 is compatibel met DAW's als Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic en Reason.

Grootste toevoeging aan de Axiom 49 Pro is de revolutionaire HyperControl techniek. Deze nieuw ontwikkelde techniek synchroniseert de controller met DAW, waardoor de hardware van de controller en de software van de DAW nog meer geïntegreerd raken. HyperControl zorgt er met de constante twee weg connectie van controller met DAW bijvoorbeeld voor dat de opties van het keyboard altijd en automatisch verwerkt worden in de actieve parameters van de software. De Pro editie van de Axiom 49 ondersteunt ASCII, waardoor via de controller de shortcuts van de DAW gebruikt kunnen worden.

Naast HyperControl heeft M-Audio gekeken naar de "feeling" van deze controller. De Pro versie van de Axiom 49 is verbeterd op dit vlak, waardoor het keyboard nog meer is gaan lijken op een echte piano.

Wrote the following about M-Audio Axiom 49

Super controller! Had een MPK25 maar heb deze vervangen door de Axiom. Ik werk met Reason 6 en qua mapping kan dit niet tippen aan de Akai. Ook veel handiger met het grote scherm waar meer info wordt getoond. De toetsen voelen erg robuust aan, de endless rotary's zijn prima, de pads gebruik ik zelden omdat ik nog een MPD heb staan. Al bij al een super aankoop bij de shop met de super service! (snelle levering, heldere communicatie)

Wrote the following about M-Audio Axiom 49

Kwaliteit met een hoofdletter K. Ik gebruik de Axiom Pro met Protools 10 (koop 9 en gratis upgrade naar 10). Ik heb hiervoor met een Novation SL MKII gewerkt, maar wat een verschil! Alleen al aan het gewicht merk je dat de Axiom Pro van beter kwaliteit is. De mapping naar Pro Tools is al aanwezig. Het LCD scherm geeft aan waar en wat je aan het doen bent. Als je in Pro Tools werkt en je zoekt een controllen, dan is dit de controller voor jou.

Wrote the following about M-Audio Axiom 49

Wat een waanzinnige controller.

Ik gebruik de Axiom samen met Reason/Record en Hypercontrol maakt het leven in deze DAW een stuk gemakkelijker. Zeker als je veel dezelfde synths in je Reason rack hebt met verschillende instellingen.

De midi-controller is erg robuust.
De sliders gaan wat stroef maar daardoor kun je wel veel gedetailleerder met waardes schuiven.
De (endless) rotary's gaan lekker soepel.
De drumpads zijn aanslag gevoelig en hebben de juiste maat en afstand van elkaar zodat je jezelf tijdens het drummen niet in de weg zit. De aftertouch vindt ik een beetje eng, het lijkt wel of je de toetsen stuk drukt.
Ik bedien Reason/Record eigenlijk alleen maar met deze Axiom want het instellen van keystrokes gekoppeld aan de verschillende knoppen is zeer eenvoudig te configureren.
Super is het grote LCD scherm waar veel info getoond wordt.

Een echte 'Hier wordt ik blij van' aankoop.
