General

Voor synthesizersnobs is dit een klein stukje hemel op aarde: de Korg MS-20 in kitvorm. Neem zelf de componenten in handen en krijg de vrijheid om in stil ontzag te kijken naar de behuizing en de printplaten, alvorens de synth te assembleren. Geen zorgen, een soldeerbout is overbodig. Slechts de grotere componenten hoeven nog met elkaar verbonden te worden. De MS-20 is een monoliet in synthland en wordt tot vandaag de dag nog gebruikt door de groten der aarde. Op deze monofone bak kunt u naar hartenlust tweaken. Houdt pen en papier bij de hand om op analoge wijze uw presets te 'tekenen' en geniet van de warme, karaktervolle sounds die uit deze zelfbouw-MS-20 gehaald kunnen worden.

MS-20 Kit: twee VCF's

De oorspronkelijke MS-20 werd, afhankelijk van het bouwjaar, met twee VCF filtercircuits geleverd. De oudste variant staat bekend om zijn vervorming en zelf-oscillatie, terwijl de nieuwere variant een wat getemder karakter had en low-noise was. De MS-20 Kit heeft beide filters aan boord. U kunt tussen beide schakelen met een simpele jumper op de printplaat. Een mooie bonus is dat deze MS-20 is uitgerust met een MIDI-IN en zelfs een USB-MIDI-aansluiting. Zo kunt u de synth niet alleen vanaf een ander klavier, maar ook vanuit een softwaresequencer aansturen. Een nieuwe dimensie, voor wie alleen een los te bespelen MS-20 kende.
