Wie kent hem niet, de legendarische MR-serie van Korg! De MR-1000 debuteerde als de ultieme draagbare recorder die niet alleen de mogelijkheid biedt hoge kwaliteit opnames te maken, maar ook om uw opnames te archiveren middels gemakkelijke extra functies. Deze recorder is ook verkrijgbaar in een 19 inch 1HE behuizing die u dus gemakkelijk in kunt bouwen, zodat u de voordelen en de mogelijkheden van Korgs MR-serie kunt combineren met een professionele inbouwmogelijkheid.

De MR-2000S ondersteunt 1-bit 5.6448 MHz opname formaat inclusief het DSDIFF formaat dat wordt gebruikt in SACD producties. Deze hoge kwaliteit opnames komen overeen met het hoge kwaliteit geluid van een DVD-film. Ook is het mogelijk om op te nemen in 16-bit en 24-bit PCM formaat in sampling frequenties van 44.1kHz tot 192kHz. Al deze opnames, in welk formaat dan ook, worden opgeslagen op de ruime ingebouwde harde schijf van 80 GB. Deze maakt het mogelijk om ongeveer 14.5 uur op te nemen in de hoogste kwaliteit (1-bit 5,6448 MHz stereo) of ongeveer 120 uur van CD-kwaliteit (16-bit 44.1kHz stereo). De MR-2000S is bovendien via USB 2.0 aan te sluiten op de computer, zodat u uw opnames gemakkelijk over kunt zetten naar de harde schijf van uw PC. U kunt ook een FAT32 geformateerde externe harde schijf aansluiten, zodat u nog meer opnames kunt maken!

Nog een makkelijke functie van deze digitale recorder: de indexfunctie. Met de 2000S zijn uw projecten namelijk nog gemakkelijker te beheren; tot 160.000 projecten kunnen intern worden gecreëerd. Wanneer u opneemt, worden twee bestanden aangemaakt: een audiobestand en een projectbestand (die instellingen en andere gegevens bevat). Deze twee bestanden vormen gezamelijk een project. U heeft dus altijd de actuele informatie achter de hand. Daarnaast wordt elke keer als u opneemt, een datummap aangemaakt. Elk project dat aangemaakt wordt, wordt opgeslagen in deze datummap, zodat u altijd weet waar u moet zoeken. U kunt tot 400 datum mappen aanmaken, elk met een maximum van 400 projecten. Ook is het mogelijk om bestanden en projecten te hernoemen en te verwijderen, zelfs onderweg!

Door gebruik te maken van de hoogste kwaliteit componenten die momenteel beschikbaar zijn, minimaliseert dit apparaat eventuele aantasting van het audio-signaal. Een voorbeeld van deze componenten zijn een CS 4398 digitaal-analoog converter van Cirrus Logic en een Burr-Brown PCM4202 analoog-digitaal converter uit de schoot van Texas Instruments. Alles is dus aangewend om u van zo perfect mogelijke opnames te voorzien!
