Deze houder ziet er wellicht wat vreemd uit, maar biedt ruimte aan een zogenaamde 'mute' die beschikbaar is voor veel blaasinstrumenten. Deze wordt in de kelk gemonteerd en wanneer deze even niet nodig is kan hij in deze houder worden gelegd.

De houder kan worden bevestigd aan een statief met een maximum diameter van 23 mm. Ideaal dus voor microfoonstatieven en partituurstatieven.
