General
Pure krachtset die meer personen kan bespelen dan hij doet vermoeden. Zeker in combinatie met de juiste processing en versterking zijn deze luidsprekerkasten ideaal te gebruiken voor de wat grotere toepassingen. En omdat het JBL betreft, kunnen deze kasten flink wat vermogen aan en zullen zij dit vertalen in een flinke hoeveelheid decibels.
De topkasten zijn een stel SRX-715 luidsprekers. Deze zijn voorzien van een 15 inch Differential Drive woofer met neodymium magneet en een hoogdriver met een 3 inch voice coil die ook voorzien is van een neodymium magneet. Dankzij de keuze voor deze componenten kunnen de topkasten lekker licht blijven en wegen daarom per stuk niet meer dan 22 kilo. Een relatief licht kastje dus voor het geweld dat er in schuilt en pas loskomt als er een flinke versterker achter staat.
Wat betreft de subwoofers, deze zijn ontworpen vanuit hetzelfde concept als de topkasten. Een redelijk compacte kast die niet teveel mag wegen en moet beschikken over componenten die flinke vermogens aankunnen en dit kunnen omzetten in een flink aantal decibels. Ook hier schuilt een Differential Drive woofer met neodymium magneet in, maar dit is wel een 18 inch woofer in tegenstelling tot de 15 inch van de topkast. Ook hier geldt, wanneer er flinke versterkers achter gezet worden, kan de 718S dit prima omzetten in een groot aantal decibels.
Een erg complete set dus die zijn geld dubbel en dwars waard is. De compacte vorm, relatief lichte constructie plus componenten en een heleboel decibels bij de juiste versterking zorgen er voor dat dit een van de sets is die prima zijn mannetje staat als het gaat om de wat grotere feesten.

ik heb de srx 728s gehoord (dubbele 18'')
en dat is 1 van de hardste woofers die ik ooit gehoord heb (bas reflex dan) gaat ook nog is aardig laag.
