The ION Video 2 Go converts analogue video to digital video for you! It can be used with both Mac and PC, due to the cross-platform software for the recording, editing and burning of videos to DVD. It is compatible with nearly any video source: VCR, camcorder, and more. Connection is made through the standard RCA Component Video and S-Video connectors. This cable, the USB cable, is the only cable you need. No external power supply needed!

Doet wat je zou verwachten en is lekker klein en portable. prachtig in combinatie met een laptop.
Waar het product tegen valt is op het gebied van de bij geleverde software. Het power producer pakket gaat er van uit dat je de gecapture-de video direct op een DVD wilt branden.
Als je deze gebruikt om te capture-en de filmpje zelf digitaal nog later wil kunnen monteren is dit een hele opgave. alles wordt direct naar lastige formaten gezet en gevangen in een project.
Maar ook Power director valt tegen. Mogelijk is het niet gecrippelde betaalde product adequaat om een gemiddeld filmpje mee te monteren, maar zodra je meer wilt dan harde overgangen tussen clipjes (die je wel in lengte kunt trimmen) vraagt het pakket of je de volledige versie wilt kopen.
Slechts geschikt dus om mee te capturen. Waarna het snel overschakelen is naar een echte editor.
Daarbij dien ik nog te vermelden dat bij mijn eerste poging Premiere essentials niet in staat bleek om met gebruik van het apparaat te capturen. Maar mogelijk zijn hier drivers voor. Dit heb ik verder zelf niet meer geprobeerd.
Voor de gereduceerde prijs van 35 euro krijg je echter een makkelijke manier om oude tapes om te zetten naar digitale filmpjes, dus zeker waar voor je geld.
