The Ibanez Tube Screamer can be found anywhere around the globe, in all shapes and sizes, as part of a guitarist's floorboard. Only few guitarists could do without its perfect, warm overdrive. In 2014 it's exactly 35 years ago that Ibanez released this green little masterpiece. In order to celebrate, Ibanez released a reissue that closely follows the specifications of the very first Tube Screamer. Just like with the original, a duo of 1458 chips were used, resulting in a slightly heavier distortion than that of later versions of the TS808.

Not only the chips are similar to that of the original pedal, but the dimensions are nearly identical as well - the pedal is a little more narrow. Just like with the original, the 'level/volume' knob is still called 'balance'. The input of the mains adapter can be found next to the jack input and instead of having a plastic lid for the battery, the entire metal bottom can be removed for replacing a battery. The pedal comes in a special package, together with the necessary documentation. This is a limited edition, so chances are that this version will eventually become a collectors item.
