General
With a Metallic Forest finish and asymmetrical body, this Ibanez Talman might look quite vintage, but it does in fact feature a new, original Ibanez design. The bass might have vintage stylings, but it is a very modern, versatile bass. This versatility is provided by the active tone controls and the coil-tap function of the bridge humbucker. As the Ibanez Talman 300 is a true all-rounder with a retro style and a very friendly price, we can definitely say that this guitar is a winner.
Construction
Thanks to an asymmetrical shape with bevelled back, this bass rests comfortably against your body while you’re playing. The mahogany body provides a lovely warm punch and lots of sustain, while the flexible pickup configuration makes the sound versatile as well. As such, the bridge humbucker provides a deep, fat sound but can also be used as a single-coil pickup for an extra bright sound.
Original and budget-friendly
Although the Talman body has an original Ibanez design, it will feel very familiar. The same goes for the neck and the solid hardware. One distinctive detail is the ST-style jack input on the body. As you've come to expect from Ibanez guitars, the finish of this bass is impeccable. Yet, its sound is also great - it has a higher quality than you might expect from a guitar in this price range. Are you looking for an original, versatile bass guitar for an attractive price? This Ibanez Talman 300 is definitely a bass guitar worth considering.
