General

Gimmick or not, the Ibanez RG550XH-BK looks rather impressive with its deep cutaway. This cutaway isn't just a fancy feature, it was actually necessary considering the fretboard has no less than 30 frets. Yet, the classic design of the RG-body is still maintained and in this black version, it becomes a fierce, edgy instrument. Because the RG550XH doesn't cost a fortune, it is within reach for a very wide audience.
Ibanez RG550XH: extreme heights
The 30 frets will reach six semitones higher than the 24 frets that are usually found on guitars from the RG series. This means that you can reach notes that almost go beyond the limit of hearing. With its radius of 400 millimetres, the rosewood fretboard is comfortably flat so that you can easily pump out the highest of scales. The Wizard III-neck is made of maple and consists of three segments for optimal stability, even when wood warping occurs after a while. The slender neck is very popular among virtuoso guitarists.
Edge-Zero II with ZPS3Fe
The black bar already gives it away, the guitar is fitted with a tremolo bridge. This bridge is not just any bridge. The Edge-Zero II allows for a very wide range of expression options and thanks to the locking nut and the reliable construction, the RG550XH will always retain its tuning, no matter how rough it gets. Thanks to the ZPS3Fe Zero Point System, adjusting the tremolo is really easy, you won't need any more tools. The basswood body and INF pickups (in HS configuration) produce a warm, dynamic sound with a great output. This Ibanez RG550XH offers desirable features at an affordable price.

Two New Metal Machines from Ibanez

Ibanez has added two guitars to its Iron Label RG series: the RG and the RG-7. These are real metal machines but with a spalted maple top and headstock. Apart from that, they have the standard Iron Label RG features, with two EMG humbuckers, 24 jumbo frets and a neck made of maple and bubinga.
