General

The RG2550Z with Galaxy Black finish is a professional guitar that was developed with great care for the best playing performances. If you're a hard rock or metal guitarist or a lead guitarist in a similar genre, the RG2550Z has everything you need. For instance, it's equipped with Ibanez Edge Zero system and DiMarzio IBZ pickups.
Optimal tuning, optimal tune
Below the bridge there is a mechanism with an extra set of outer springs. Thanks to this extra counter tension, your strings will always be optimally tuned, whether one breaks, you use the tremolo intensively or play for hours on end. This saves you a lot of time and you'll be able to play your tune in no time.
Ripping sounds
With its Galaxy Black finish and beautiful purple pickguard, the RG2550Z looks rather 'metal'. This guitar has filed jumbo frets and a large radius so that playing solo parts becomes a lot more comfortable than with a standard guitar. Heavy metal requires roaring pickups, which are exactly what the DiMarzio IBZ humbuckers are. They also sound warm and perfectly reproduce harmonics. The single coil sounds balanced and clear.

Two New Metal Machines from Ibanez

Ibanez has added two guitars to its Iron Label RG series: the RG and the RG-7. These are real metal machines but with a spalted maple top and headstock. Apart from that, they have the standard Iron Label RG features, with two EMG humbuckers, 24 jumbo frets and a neck made of maple and bubinga.
