General
Korn bassist Fieldy (Reginald Arvizu) has been playing an SR-style bass guitar for over twenty years now. A good reason to release a special model, Ibanez thought. The K5WHLTD 20th Anniversary is a very appealing, entirely white 5-string bass. It's equipped with two Ibanez ADX5N active humbuckers that support those typical heavy Korn-sounds.
Features of the Ibanez K5WHLTD
This model is based on the Ibanez SR and has a slender, streamlined mahogany body with a bolt-on neck. This 5-piece neck is made of maple and bubinga for extra strength and stability. The fretboard of the K5WHLTD is made of maple but has a high-gloss white varnish, just like the body. The twelfth fret features a contrasting black K5 logo.
Versatile 3-band EQ
The K5WHLTD is fitted with the versatile Vari-mid III 3-band equalizer by Ibanez. In addition to the volume control and balance knob for switching between the pickups, you can also find a duo of stacked potentiometers. One for the trebles and boosting/cutting the bass and the other for the mid-frequency and boosting/cutting the mid. Lastly, the bass was fitted with striking blue DR Neon HI-DEF Blue strings.
