Guild Doyle Dykes Signature Cutaway Electric 12-string

General

Master luthier Ren Ferguson and the American finger-style country guitarist Doyle Dykes collaborated with the American Guild team to design a number of Dykes signature guitars. One of the results of the collaboration is this Doyle Dykes 12-string electro-acoustic guitar. When it comes to sound and feel, this is guitar features all of Doyle's preferences. This 12-string instrument sound particularly full and warm, and is outstanding balance in regards to action and sound. The most versatile guitarists will find this guitar to be a phenomenal source of inspiration.

Doyle Dykes 12-String: body

The instrument has a dreadnought body with sharp Florentine cutouts. Solid spruce was used for the top of this all solid wood guitar, in order to provide plenty of presence and a sharp response. The sides and back are constructed from the beautiful AAA quilted big-leaf male. Nitrocellulose gloss was used to bring out the details of the wood, and this model features a Blond finish. The entire process was carried out with extreme care, so as not to decrease any of the excellent acoustic properties of the wood. It's all finished off with a striking abalone soundhole rosette.

Neck and electronics

The three-part neck is composed of two outer mahogany pieces sandwiching a strip of rosewood for an extra sturdy construction. A comfortable ebony fingerboard is paired with the neck, and features 20 frets. L.R. Baggs gets the credit for the preamp system worked into the side of the body of this Dykes signature model. As such, you can expect high-quality, reliable preamplification that does justice to this solid wood 12-string guitar. A premium guitar case is the cherry on top!
