General

The Gretsch GS2 is a great drum kit to start your drumming career with, supplied with a decent set of SBR cymbals by Sabian and a matching hardware set by Gibraltar. The SBR set comprises a 14-inch hi-hat set, a 16-inch crash and a 20-inch ride, and the Gibraltar hardware set, which consists of a snare stand, a hi-hat stand, two cymbal stands and a bass drum pedal. The included Gretsch stands enable you to optimally position your toms and thanks to the memory lock system you only have to adjust the settings of your stands once, which is great if you frequently have to take down and set up your kit.

Full sound & neat looks

The shells of this drum kit are made of 9-ply poplar, which allows for optimal resonance, creating a nice and full Gretsch sound. This GS2 set has a Grey Steel finish, which, in combination with the chrome-plated hardware, gives the drum kit a neat look. The five lugs on the 10 and 12-inch toms enable you to tune your drumheads, creating a full and rich sound.

That the Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy is still as popular as ever is no surprise. It's a lovely, attractively priced parlour-style guitar that makes you think of the early Delta Blues. An instrument like this really doesn't need to be changed. Gretsch do bring out limited editions of this model in different colours every now and then however, just like this G9500 Jim Dandy Barn Wood Burst.
