It's back to the heyday of the Beach Boys with the beautiful-looking and gorgeously sounding Fender Vaporizer. The good vibrations of this tube amp are brought to you by Fender's Pawn Shop Special series, so you can be sure that you're bringing home something rather special. The name of this Vaporizer's colour is Surf Green, leaving no doubt about this amp's vintage roots. The distinctively shaped grille and the hinging black handle provide this combo with a look that is out of this world. The amp's technically interesting features include spring reverb and the Vaporizer mode. The Vaporizer mode is activated with the accessory foot switch and subsequently blasts you away with a powerful distortion.

Fender Vaporizer: technology

This amplifier combo has a semi-open-back housing, for a more open sound than what is produced by a closed cabinet. Two 10-inch Special Design Vaporizer speakers take on the hefty task coping with the power from two 12AX7 (preamp) and two EL84 (power amp) tubes. The total power comes to 12 watts, harmonically enhanced by tube characteristics. Those who wish to use an external speaker cabinet can do so by connecting it to the amp's speaker output. At 17 kilos, this 2x 10 tube combo is relatively light, making it an excellent companion for weekly rehearsal sessions.

Wrote the following about Fender Vaporizer Surf Green 12W tube guitar amplifier

Ik heb deze amp een paar jaar en ben er nog super tevreden over. De reverb-piep van mijn voorganger, heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt.

Nadelen:
- te hard om thuis fatsoenlijk mee te oefenen, je moet de versterker met preciezie opendraaien en krijgt dan nooit de volle buizensound. Maar goed, eens per week bij de repetitie wel :)
- Het is een Vaporizer-mankementje dat de lijm soms vlekken in het doek geeft. Meer Vaporizers gezien hiermee, en die van mij ook, terwijl ze nog nooit in de regen is geweest en altijd heel netjes behandeld. Is alleen optisch, valt niet heel erg op
- gebrek aan eq: er zit een tone knop op waarmee je het sprankelende hoog wat kunt indraaien, maar er zijn maar 3 knoppen, namelijk Volume, Tone, Reverb. Ik moet met mijn pedalen de EQ regelen als ik dat wil

Voordelen:
- sound is heerlijk crispy, als ze eenmaal wat meer op volume mag. Goede respons en je hoort dat het volledig buizen is
- vette echte spring-reverb, waardoor je meteen een oldskool geluid hebt. Als je het volume dichtdraait en de reverb open, krijg je ook een spacy effect
- De looks, it's a beauty en uniek
- hele degelijke kwaliteit, de knoppen zijn stevig en dik, de inputs zijn solide, sterk hard plastic handvat (dat had wel wat padding mogen hebben trouwens), en stevig genoeg om tijdens je repetities die vergaderingen worden, op te zitten.
- goedkoop! Ik weet het, ze worden niet meer gemaakt, maar als er ergens een kunt vinden is het het geld dubbel en dwars waard

Ik ben blij met mijn Thunderbirds-surf-groene monster!

Wrote the following about Fender Vaporizer Surf Green 12W tube guitar amplifier

Heel goed geluid , maar na een half uurtje wanneer ie warm is begint de reverb hinderlijk hard te piepen.
Wanneer de reverb geheel dicht wordt gedraaid geen piep , maar dus ook geen reverb.
Jammer om het weg tedraaien , want het is een goede reverb .
Ik weet niet of dit toevallig alleen bij mijn versterker is of dat dit bij meerdere voorkomt ?
Vanalles geprobeert ; volume /toon /reverb - setting , andere stopcontaten (wandcontactdozen) etc.
Een reverb stompbox bied wel uitkomst , maar toch jammer...verder niets aan op te merken.

Fender recently announced a number of new mandolins: the Concert Tone Mando Pack , Concert Tone FM52E , Concert Tone FM53S , Concert Tone FM63S and the Concert Tone FM63SE . The 53 series features the well-known classic teardrop shape, while the 63 series consists of gorgeous Baroque style mandolins. Furthermore, the E at the end of certain type numbers stands for 'electric', which means that besides the fully acoustic models, there are also electrical models available.
