General

Originally designed to produce a higher volume than traditional acoustic guitars, resonator guitars quickly gained a fan base all of their own thanks to their distinctive sound. Bluegrass and delta blues guitarists were swept off their feet by the characteristically loud sound, lengthy sustain and clear trebles of resonators. Even after the electric guitar dealt with the volume issue, resonator guitars remained as popular as before. The stylish Fender Top Hat gives you plenty of the sound that makes resonator guitars so beloved.

Fender Top Hat Resonator guitar: unique sound

Many fans of blues and bluegrass are already familiar with Fender resonators for their distinctive metal twang that is also abundantly present in this Fender Top Hat resonator. A unique feature within its price range is its high-quality Eastern European cone. This special cone was handmade and produces a very specific sound. This guitar has a deep, rich tone with excellent sound transference due to its laminated mahogany sides and back and the laminated maple top. The open-pore finish ensures that the lacquer doesn't get in the way of the unique tone.

Top Hat with Telecaster neck

This resonator was named after the top hat as it has the same amount of style, class and finesse. Its Telecaster-style headstock makes that you can instantly tell that this guitar is a genuine Fender. The Top Hat Resonator also features a mahogany neck with a Telecaster-style C-profile making it as comfortable to play as a regular guitar. This is contrary to a square-neck resonator that you play laying on your lap or on a table. The neck of the Top Hat features a rosewood fretboard with white position markers. In addition to the high-quality resonator cone, its body brandishes two sound holes that bring forth its unique sound even better.

Fender Introduces Upgraded Mandolins!

Fender recently announced a number of new mandolins: the Concert Tone Mando Pack , Concert Tone FM52E , Concert Tone FM53S , Concert Tone FM63S and the Concert Tone FM63SE . The 53 series features the well-known classic teardrop shape, while the 63 series consists of gorgeous Baroque style mandolins. Furthermore, the E at the end of certain type numbers stands for 'electric', which means that besides the fully acoustic models, there are also electrical models available.
