Have you always wanted to learn how to play the banjo? Fender has made it very appealing to take the first step with the FB-300 Banjo Pack. This starter pack is highly affordable and incredibly complete as it includes all the essential accessories to start playing straight away. In addition to the five-string Fender banjo it has a gig bag, a practical clip-on tuner, a set of finger picks and a shoulder strap as well as a banjo instruction book and a set of spare strings so this pack will last you a considerable time. Also, it is an ideal set if you're looking to resume playing the banjo after some time.

Characteristics of the Fender FB-300 5-string banjo

This banjo has a closed back body with a mahogany back that projects the sound forward, creating a bright and loud sound. The Fender FB-300 has a Remo Weatherking skin and a fifth string that is usually played in open tune for that distinctive five-string banjo keynote, you can use a capo for different keys.

Banjo background

The banjo is a uniquely American instrument that descends from traditional African instruments. It has a distinctive sound that can not be made on any other instrument thanks to its unique build, resembling a snare drum with a neck and strings. The banjo is an incredibly fun instrument to play. The distinctive banjo sound is mostly heard in genres such as bluegrass and country as well as in the occasional rock, jazz and fusion songs.

Fender Introduces Upgraded Mandolins!

Fender recently announced a number of new mandolins: the Concert Tone Mando Pack , Concert Tone FM52E , Concert Tone FM53S , Concert Tone FM63S and the Concert Tone FM63SE . The 53 series features the well-known classic teardrop shape, while the 63 series consists of gorgeous Baroque style mandolins. Furthermore, the E at the end of certain type numbers stands for 'electric', which means that besides the fully acoustic models, there are also electrical models available.
