A brand with such a well-respected heritage like Fender is wise to look back on its former success stories. The American guitar builder's rich model history sometimes sparks a hunger for the instruments that came and went. Luckily, there's the American Vintage series to provide you with models of old, so you don't have to buy a genuine relic. This Fender American Vintage '64 Jazz Bass was fully modelled after a 1964 Jazz Bass, incorporating the reliability of today's instruments.

Fender American Vintage '64 Jazz Bass: neck and materials

This version sports a prominent Lake Placid Blue finish that makes this guitar's headstock and body look very fresh indeed. The neck is made of maple and features a rosewood fretboard with Clay Dot position markers, just like the original '64 version. Its 20 frets are relatively low and narrow, for that proper vintage feel. The Fender American Vintage reverse open-gear machine heads offer exceptional tuning stability.

True-to-form construction

The pickups of this guitar have the same place as the ones on the original 1964 model. There are two single-coil pickups, both of them were specially designed for this American Vintage Jazz Bass and feature their own volume control. Additionally, there's a master tone knob so you can control the overall sound. The knobs are black, while the rest of the hardware has a chrome finish. The most striking features of this guitar are the bridge cover (with Fender F) and the cover/hand rest above the middle pickup. This blue American Vintage '64 Jazz Bass pays homage to its 1964 idol and offers you the same looks and feel in a fresh new guise.

Fender Introduces Upgraded Mandolins!

Fender recently announced a number of new mandolins: the Concert Tone Mando Pack , Concert Tone FM52E , Concert Tone FM53S , Concert Tone FM63S and the Concert Tone FM63SE . The 53 series features the well-known classic teardrop shape, while the 63 series consists of gorgeous Baroque style mandolins. Furthermore, the E at the end of certain type numbers stands for 'electric', which means that besides the fully acoustic models, there are also electrical models available.
