General

This is no American Vintage reissue, this is the real deal: an original vintage guitar! Apart from its string nut, this 1978 second-hand Fender Jazz Bass is fully original! It may have signs of use, but for a guitar this age it is exceptionally well kept. Remarkable features include its Olympic White lacquer - that's beautifully aged - and its maple neck with pearloid block inlays and bindings. This 1978 Fender Jazz Bass may have the odd bumps and scratches, its technical features are still 100%.

1978 Jazz Bass Olympic White: original Fender

From its bullet-style truss rod nut on its headstock down to its 3-point neck mount and F logo on the chrome bridge cover, virtually every component of this 1978 Fender Jazz Bass is exactly the way it left the Fender factory in Fullerton. The string nut however, was replaced by a brass version, which was a popular modification in the seventies and eighties to give the sound of the bass a bit more bite. Its two single-coils (each with its own volume control) and master tone offer you a plethora of classic J-Bass sounds. As a special treat, this guitar comes in its original case with its original paperwork.

Authentic J Bass features

Following the original recipe, the distinctly asymmetrical body of this 1978 Fender Jazz Bass is made of ash. Additionally, the one-piece maple neck features white bindings along the fretboard and pearloid block position markers - making this one of the most coveted J-Bass versions around. The ash/maple combination gives this old bass guitar a full tone with deep basses and clear trebles. It is the perfect instrument for slapping and fingered style playing.
