General

In 1958 introduceerde Gibson meerdere opvallend gevormde elektrische gitaren waaronder de Explorer gitaar. Het duurde even voordat dit model geliefd werd onder de gitaristen omdat het ontwerp zijn tijd ver vooruit was. De 1984 Explorer van Epiphone is de versie met alle populaire specificaties uit het midden van de jaren '80. Deze tweedehands gitaar verkeert in een prima licht bespeelde staat met de bekende speelsporen en wordt geleverd met een speciaal gevormde draagtas. Al met al heeft u hier te maken met een Epiphone Explorer met een uitzonderlijk aangename prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding.

Epiphone 1984 Explorer Alpine White: solide basisgeluid, stabiele stemming

Deze Explorer heeft een warm solide akoestisch basisgeluid geleverd door de combinatie qua houtsoorten en hardware. De body en de gelijmde hals zijn gemaakt van mahonie in combinatie met een palissander toets. Het LockTone systeem van de Tune-O-Matic brug en het bijpassende staartstuk zorgen ervoor dat deze onderdelen zelfs tijdens het snaren vervangen goed op hun plaats blijven zitten. Ook blijft de stemming stabiel en heeft de gitaar meer body en sustain dan een vergelijkbaar model met een tremolo.

De legendarische combinatie van actieve EMG-humbuckers

Deze Epiphone is voorzien van dé legendarische actieve elementencombinatie van EMG. Metalgitaristen zoals Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne) en Kerry King (Slayer) verkrijgen hun sound door middel van deze actieve humbuckers, maar binnen rockkringen is deze combi ook zeer geliefd. De EMG 81 in de brugpositie zorgt een gedetailleerde krachtige toon die de aanwezige sustain benadrukt. Bij de hals van deze Explorer zit de EMG 85 die een iets rondere veelzijdige klank heeft. Hierdoor kan dit element zelfs gebruikt worden binnen een stijl als blues. Beide humbuckers worden gevoed door een 9 volt blokbatterij en hebben potmeters voor volume- en tone.
