Altijd al willen weten hoe componisten van filmmuziek van die dikke, volle strijkers maken? Met deze plug-in van Eastwest Quantum Leap komt u een heel eind!
Hollywood Strings is een schitterende collectie van samples van orkesten en individuele instrumenten, samengevoegd in een overzichtelijk plug-in. De samples zijn samengesteld door Doug Rogers, Shawn Murphy, Nick Phoenix en Thomas Bergersen. Deze vier behoren tot de top van componisten en sound engineers van vele grote Hollywood films.
U heeft de beschikking over dertig verschillende violen, tien chello's en zeven bassen. Van ieder instrument kunt u de microfoon positie bepalen voor een andere beleving van het geluid.
Naast de geluiden heeft u de beschikking over effecten en een geavanceerde sample engine. De interface van deze plug-in is overzichtelijk. Het zoeken van geluiden wordt u eenvoudig gemaakt door de zoekfunctie.
De software draait als VST, RTAS, UA en standalone op iedere Windows computer.

Is wel aan te raden om een goede computer te hebben, want het zeker een aantal legato patches gebruiken veel RAM. Ik run hetzelf vanaf een slave machine met 16gb RAM speciaal voor Hollywood strings and Hollywood Brass en alle RAM is binnen no time op.
De klank is geweldig (lekkere dikke hollywood klank), met de diamond editie krijg je 5 microfoon posities en hiermee kan je je strijkers in de mix op zoveel verschillende manieren vormgeven, daar komt bij dat er ook divisi patches zijn om verschillende partijen binnen een groep op een realistische manier te verdelen. Er zitten helaas geen solo instrumenten bij, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken.
Al met al een geweldig product voor een aantrekkelijke prijs als je op zoek bent naar een complete bibliotheek met strijkers voor een een goede hollywood sound.
