General

If you've always wanted to get the famous Jimi Hendrix sound from classic songs like Purple Haze and Fire, then you've got to get your hands on the JHOC1 Octavio from the Authentic Analog series by Dunlop. This guitar effect pedal produces the exact same octave-hi fuzz sound that Hendrix used to make rock history. To be precise, the JHOC1 is an exact replica of the pedal that roger Mayer gave to Jimi Hendrix for his legendary Band of Gypsys performance in the Fillmore East.

Dunlop JHOC1: reliable replica

The JHOC1 Jimi Hendrix Octavio is the same as the original in every way. Its characteristic cheese-wedge white housing is made of welded steel, and the corners have all been sanded by hand. Furthermore, the two chromed knobs on the front have been replicated in detail, and even the screws used for the bottom plate are the same. The interior features the same hand-soldered analogue circuit, with first-class CLIFF jack connectors and a high-quality DPDT on/off switch. The only way that the JH-OC1 Octavio differs from the original is that it has a modern battery lid on the bottom, to make it easier to swiftly change the battery.

User-friendly octaver / fuzz effect pedal with true bypass

Controlling the Dunlop JHOC1 is a piece of cake. This straightforward pedal features just one level knob for the effect volume, and one fuzz knob for adjusting the intensity of the overdrive. You can activate the octave effect with the foot switch. This effect produces a mix of your original guitar sound and a version of the original that is one octave higher. Finally, it bears mentioning that the Dunlop JHOC1 Jimi Hendrix Octavio is a true bypass pedal, meaning that you won't lose any of your original tone when the pedal is switched off.

NAMM 2016: Maintenance-Free Tape-Echo by Dunlop

Wednesday 20 January 2016 By Lizanne

Lots of guitarists out there would love to experiment with an old-school tape echo. You know, those warm, analogue 60s-70s delays, brought about by a tape recorder with all sorts of fascinating controls. Unfortunately, there are no free rides in this world. The price of a (secondhand) tape recorder, if you can find one, is often astronomical, not to mention the costs of the cartridges and maintenance. So, Dunlop launched the EP103 Echoplex.
