Thanks to the 8-Watt built-in speakers the piano produces a nice and natural sound. Via the 8 digital effects, the sound can be adjusted at will. The accessory sustain pedal completes your piano experience.

Great digital piano, even if it seems a bit expensive I would suggested this to any beginner like me. Read the following.

I have been studying piano sine October 2013 and I started with a keyboard that I borrowed from a friend. The problem with that was when I had to play the grand piano with my teacher. The keys there require much more pressure and being used to the keyboard I had a lot of difficulties.

Even if expensive, I decided to buy a digital piano. I bought the Casio CDP 120 and it was more than worthwhile since in a few weeks I was able to use the grand piano. The mechanical response of the keys is indeed realistic.

I could also connect the piano to my laptop via usb midi interface and use the following free software: http://www.anvilstudio.com/ Thanks to this, what I play is automatically transcribed and I can quickly visualize on the generated piano roll eventual mistakes. You can do that while using the headphones connected to the keyboard.

The only thing I recommend is to buy a heavier pedal since the one included easily tends to slip.

NAMM 2016: Casio MZ-X: A New MZ-2000?

Monday 11 January 2016

The image below recently turned up on the internet. Based on the text and the accompanying specifications, we assume that Casio is trying to lure us to their NAMM booth so they can present their latest keyboard/synthesizer: the MZ-X. This will likely remind keyboard enthusiasts of the MZ-2000, an old Casio model that, considering the words 'Reinvented, Reimagined, Reborn' is apparently about to be brought back to life. Rumour has it that two models will be released, the MZ-500 and the MZ-1000, but take that with a grain of salt; it's very possible that MZ-X is indeed the final name for this workstation.
