Deze geluiden en klanken komen rechtstreeks uit de film en TV-wereld waar ze vaak gebruikt worden. Ook hebben verschillende artiesten zich er al aan gewaagd om een selectie van deze geluiden te gebruiken om een theme of track te maken.

Onder meer het X-files fluitje is hiervan afgeleid en ook Depeche Mode heeft klanken gebruikt voor hun track 'Enjoy the silence'. Proteus 2000 is een van de meest bruikbare collecties als het gaat om kwalitatieve samples.
