General

Behold! A 48-channel mixer in a 24-channel housing! This is quite a considerable mixing console, and has such features as a comprehensive meter bridge, which can display the channel input levels in intricate detail (both the first set of 24 channels and the second set of channels are switchable).

Behringer's in-line principle is really quite genius. On the front of the mixer you have 24 channels available, which can be easily modified with a simple fader, as far as volume settings are concerned, and beneath that you have a layer with the second set of 24 channels. You can use the second layer in the studio for monitoring playback, and you can use it on stage for broadcasting applications (live broadcasts, theatre recordings, etc.).

Behringer doesn't discriminate, and as such, all channels are equally equipped with the same 4-band tone control. This British-style tone control harkens back to the days of the softer, rounder tone control that was common during the time of the British Invasion. Every channel also has a Behringer preamp, which the XENYX series is named after! These XENYX preamps are equipped with 48V phantom power, so you can connected dynamic and condenser microphones alike!
