General

De integratie van de iPad in een studio- of live-mixomgeving is geen vreemd concept. Er zijn al tal van apps beschikbaar om de tablet in te zetten bij geluidstechnische toepassingen. Behringer brengt met de iX16 een bijzonder handig verlengstuk voor de iPad op de markt. Deze iPad-mixer biedt 16 fysieke ingangen van Midas ontwerp, met volledig programmeerbare voorversterkers, die ook de strengere audiofiel tevreden kunnen stemmen.

Synergie van iX16 en iPad

Het slimme aan dit concept is dat de iPad als haarscherp display en controlecentrum kan worden vastgeklemd in de iX16. Een robuuste behuizing met rubberen steun aan de onderzijde biedt een serieuze mixsetup in zeer compact formaat. De 16 ingangen worden verdeeld over 8 bussen. Er zijn 6 aux-sends en 2 XLR-uitgangen aanwezig, plus een hoofdtelefoonuitgang. De iX16 bevat een 18 kanaals I/O USB audio-interface.

Digitale connecties

Via ethernet of WiFi kan de iX16 vanaf afstand worden bestuurd, zelfs door meerdere apparaten tegelijk. Opslaan en oproepen van instellingen kan via een efficiënt scene-managementsysteem. Vooral live is dit een uitkomst. Via het Behringer Ultranet-audionetwerk kan de iX16 worden gekoppeld aan bijvoorbeeld het P-16 monitorsysteem. Het mooie van deze hardwareconfiguratie, is dat Behringer gratis firmware-updates beschikbaar stelt en de iPad ook steeds softwarematig wordt bijgehouden. Zo beschikt u altijd over een moderne, uiterst mobiele mixoplossing.
