General

Voor een fabrikant is de beste bron van informatie nog altijd de eindgebruiker, met name de zeer ervaren eindgebruiker. Veel fabrikanten werken samen met bekende musici om hun ervaringen en ideeën vorm te geven in een signature-model. Jean-Jacques Burnel, met name bekend als bassist van The Stranglers, heeft samen met Ashdown een signature basversterkertop gerealiseerd: de JJB-500. Deze 2u rackmodule heeft een zeer degelijke bouw, ook de bekende Ashdown VU-meter is weer van de partij.

Mogelijkheden van de JJB-500

Het meest in het oog springende aspect is de 12-bands equalizer, hiermee krijgt kunt u zeer gedetailleerd uw klank bijschaven. Minstens zo noemenswaardig is de Harmonic Emphasis, een uniek Ashdown-effect. Het zorgt er in het kort voor dat er een extra heldere top-end bij uw klank komt, alsof u steeds met nieuwe snaren speelt. Deze extra boventonen zijn weliswaar synthetisch, maar klinken erg goed, met name omdat de totaalklank een combinatie is van het origineel en deze extra 'zing'.
