General
The Behringer Ultragain Digital ADA8200 digital converter is the successor of the popular ADA8000. This device is used to convert a maximum of eight analogue signals to digital, and vice versa. Some new features in the ADA8200 are the Cirrus Logic converters and the MIDAS microphone preamplifiers, which do a lot to add to the overall great quality of this model. The ADA8200 is an appealing 1U rack module offered at a friendly price.
In the Box
Under the hood of the ADA8200, your signals are converted with a quality of 24 bits and 44.1 or 48 kHz. The inputs consist of balanced XLRs and unbalanced 6.35mm jacks, while the outputs comprise balanced and unbalanced XLRs. Furthermore, the digital I/O works via the optical ADAT TOSLINK sockets.

Simplistic set up with zero issues and instantly gives you 8 inputs.
Een fantoomvoeding per kanaal zou mooi geweest zijn, hoewel de meeste huidige dynamische microfoons ook wel tegen de 48V kunnen, de SM57s hadden er in ieder geval geen moeite mee, en zo kon ik toch de hele band tracken.
Kwaliteit van de jacks laat helaas wat te wensen over, die van de XLRs lijkt beter. Overall toch een degelijk product.
Ik had weinig zin om al teveel kabels door de studio te trekken en in mijn zoektocht kwam ik op de Behringer Ultragain voorversterker uit.
Met dit apparaat kan ik 8 kanalen door slechts 1 (optische) kabel versturen. Het aansluiten was bijna plug en play. De lock van de word clock wilde eerst niet lukken wat resulteerde in jitter. Na afgelopen weekend de eerste opnames te hebben gemaakt kan ik zeggen dat het geluid zeer goed is. Ik had dit zo veel eerder moeten doen. Onvoorstelbaar dat Behringer voor dit geld zulke goede apparatuur kan maken.
Makkelijk in gebruik te nemen.
Doet goed zijn werk.
Ben er erg tevreden over.
