Add more colour to recordings with the capable help of the valve-driven Behringer Mic300 microphone preamp. While most audio interfaces and mixers tend to come fitted with pretty good preamps these days, they can end up sounding a little bit clinical and boring. What the Mic300 does is simply coat the signal with subtle saturation, giving it more life. The compact, desktop-friendly housing, meanwhile, still comes packed with useful functions, including a -20dB PAD switch, phase reverse, phantom power, and a built-in limiter. Open up the gain until it nudges the red, and use the output trim and limiter to ensure that the converter is never in danger of clipping.
