General

With the English Muff’n, Electro Harmonix treats you to a vintage British tube sound. This tube distortion/preamp pedal makes your amplifier sound like a classic British tube amp.

How does the Electro Harmonix English Muff’n work?

The EHX pedal is equipped with two 12AY7 vacuum tubes, which make your guitar sound as if you’re using a vintage British tube amplifier. Why spend a lot of money on an expensive amp, when this compact tube preamp pedal delivers the ultimate tube sound?

Would you like to add some more gain or distortion to your sound? Replace the included 12AY7 tubes with a set of 12AX7s. Alternatively, use a pair of 12AU7 tubes for less gain/distortion. Just keep experimenting until you’ve found the perfect tube sound!
