General

The ENGL E840/50 Tube Poweramp is a 19-inch 2x50-watt power amp with 5881 tubes for a rich, harmonic sound and plenty of headroom and the perfect balance between attack and output. There are two switchable volume and Presence controls per channel. The chassis has a brushed metal front panel with black controls, black mesh and red LED lights inside.

ENGL E840/50 Tube Poweramp: innovative functions

The first thing you're bound to notice about the ENGL E840/50 is that it has four volume controls and four Presence controls. For each channel, you can adjust two different volume levels. This option is also switchable via an optional ENGL Z-4 Footswitch or the Z-11 MIDI Switcher. On the rear, there are 8 and 16-ohm speaker outputs per channel.

Wrote the following about ENGL E840-50 Tube Poweramp 2x50W

Na een jaar was ik mijn solid state poweramp beu. Na lang wikken en wegen kwam ik bij engl terecht. Plots moest alles iets sneller gaan want ik had de dag nadien repetitie. Diezelfde dag nog besteld en de volgende dag zat hij al in mijn rack te pronken en te rocken!

Zeer goede service!

Over de poweramp: zeer warme, in your face, metalsound. Ik gebruik hem nu samen met mijn kemper. De engl geeft de kemper een nieuwe wending. Het lijkt alsof een preset gewoon niet meer slecht kan klinken! Waar ik bij mijn solid state een fuzzy ruisboel kreeg blijft de sound bij de engl nog steeds warm en gedefinieerd. Zeer tevreden van mijn keuze. Hier ga ik vele repetities en shows plezier aan beleven!
